The Perfect Group Outing

The time has come again. The annual club or company outing is coming up and you are still looking for a suitable day trip. Of course, the excursion should be a highlight for people of all ages, be fun for everyone and not break the budget.

That's why I'm taking you on a day trip tight into the Berchtesgaden salt mine and high up to the Jenner mountain – an excursion that combines all these aspects and that everyone remembers with pleasure.

Let’s Go
Over and Under the Mountain

We start at 10:00 am at the salt mine in Berchtesgaden, you can find exact directions  here. Of course, you can customise the schedule when you make your booking. After the bus has parked at the bus park, the group goes directly to the cloakroom, where each visitor receives an overall to protect their clothes. Don't worry, the overalls are available in all sizes and backpacks and bags can be stored in the lockers or simply left on the bus. After the whole troupe has slipped into the pretty miner's overalls, it's off to the mine train to take photos. After consultation with the, photo team you will receive a photo with the whole group and off you go into the underground world of the miners.

Slide Fun in the Berchtesgaden Salt Mine

In addition to the miners' slides, the Mirror Lake and the mine train, you can expect interesting facts about mining and salt extraction in the Berchtesgaden salt mine.Since the visit lasts about 1.5 hours, you can make a reservation for lunch at 12:00 noon.If you want to save time, you can make a reservation for the group directly at the Restaurant Bergschänke (opposite the ticket office of the salt mine) and choose a menu in advance.

Up up and Away

You will be taken to the Jennerbahn cable car Talstation in your own bus.The distance from the salt mine to the Jennerbahn cable car is approx. 9 kilometres. However, as there is a lot of traffic on the roads in summer, I recommend that you allow about 30 minutes for the ascent with the Jennerbahn cable car.

All you have to do is exchange the ticket you got in the Berchtesgaden salt mine for a Jennerbahn cable car ticket at the ticket office and the group is off up the mountain. After the panoramic 20-minute cable car ride in comfortable 10-seater cabins, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Berchtesgaden Alps and lake Königssee.

Breathtaking Views And
Culinary Highlights

Once at the top, there is the option of a short hike (approx. 15 minutes) to the summit cross, or further hikes around the Jenner mountain.

For those who prefer to take it easy, the Jenneralm in keeping with the motto "Enjoy with a view!".Including a stop for refreshments, you should plan about 2 hours here.

Then it's back to the valley station by gondola.

And Here Is The Best Part:

Even after your day's programme, Berchtesgaden still offers unique opportunities to round off the evening.
